"A Little Help Goes a Long Way" 2025 CABS x Groundswell Paint Day and Dedication

Groundswell Community Mural Project partnered with CABS Health Network to create a vibrant dual mural celebrating care, community, and the next generation of caregivers. Led by teaching artists Angel Garcia and Amanda Jacobs, fifteen youth artists collaborated with CABS staff and community members to explore the role of caregiving and healthcare in strengthening neighborhoods.

A mural showing a person in a CABS shirt watering plants with a group of people behind them, another group of people holding up a globe that has "welcome" written in multiple languages, and natural elements.

After weeks of interviews and creative workshops, the project culminated in a paint day and mural dedication, where the community came together to bring the murals to life. One mural highlights multicultural community and healing through colorful imagery and global symbolism, while the second reflects CABS’ history and impact with building blocks, roots, and a blooming flower representing the boroughs served.

This project demonstrates how public art can connect generations, inspiring young people to see compassion, care, and community health as meaningful pathways for the future.
