Groundswell “Unity” Mural & Dedication at NYC Lab School- 9/21/23

On September 21, 2023, Groundswell NYC partnered with students from New York City Lab School for Collaborative Studies — including both the Middle School and High School — to create a new mural titled “Unity.”

The mural was developed and painted with students and staff in the school’s exterior schoolyard and playground area, showcasing themes of togetherness, collaboration, and community spirit as expressed by the young artists.

The project involved multiple sessions of design and painting with Groundswell teaching artists and culminated in a community dedication event where students, school community members, and supporters gathered to celebrate the finished artwork and honor the students’ creative contributions.
