Register for Groundswell’s Voices Her’d and Making His'tory!
Are you 16-19 years old and self-identify as a youth artist of color? Want to join a team to identify and research issues facing young people of color today?
Groundswell's Voices Her'd and Making His'tory Spring/Summer programs are leadership development groups that brings together young women of color (Voices Her’d) and young men of color (Making His'tory) to work with two Groundswell artists, and through art-making identify issues and conditions impacting them today. They'll also have the opportunity to be part of the summer mural jobs in July-August. Participants don't have to be experienced in art to join the program, they just have to be interested in art, community and social justice. Participants receive all art materials, field trips opportunities and snacks!
The program meets every Thursdays (Making His'tory) and Fridays (Voices Her’d) from 4-7pm, and 2 Saturday's Intensive sessions, starting April 30th through June 17th. Attendance and full participation is required for our Spring program. Spring program attendance will determine whether participants are invited to return for our paid Summer positions.
For more information on each program check out our website, call 718-254-9782, or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
