Groundswell’s School-Based Programs provide access to challenging, developmentally-aligned visual arts learning experiences rooted in principles of social justice for public school students across New York City. Our school-based programs create long lasting relationships with school patterns that continue on for years.
Our Mural Making and Social Justice Art Making programs offer an encouraging and creative space where young people can engage in a variety of artistic media while exploring questions of identity, expression, justice, and community care. We encourage our artists to draw inspiration from the many cultural insititutions and neighborhoods in New York throughout the classes.
