Revisiting Brownsville Mural Tour & Art Making Experience
Join us on Friday, June 8, 2018, for a Mural Tour & Art Making Experience entitled “Revisiting Brownsville”. The tour will highlight the transformative murals created through the two-year (2014-2016) initiative called Transform/Restore: Brownsville which was a collaboration of the New York City Department of Probation, the Pitkin Avenue Business Improvement District, and Groundswell. This participatory public art project was supported by the National Endowment for the Arts’ Our Town program and Governor Andrew Cuomo’s Regional Economic Development Council (REDC) Initiative.

The tour will begin and end at Groundswell’s Main Office located at 540 President Street, Brooklyn, NY and include an art-making experience using information gathered on the tour to revisit the transformative process experienced in the creation of the featured murals.
