Lauren Donnellan

Lauren Donnellan was honored to join the Groundswell Team in March 2018. As an artist, educator, and designer from Boston, Lauren is focused on programming for youth surrounding skill building, empowerment, and independence through the arts. Prior to Groundswell Lauren led several projects and programs through completion for the Mayor’s Mural Crew – a partnership between Boston City Hall Department of Art and Culture and the BCYF Division of Youth Engagement & Employment. In her work with the city, Lauren led teen artists through a crash course in community art and engagement and completed almost a dozen murals in Greater Boston.

In early 2015 Lauren completed the Mural Arts Training Program in Philadelphia where she developed more concrete skills in mural production and project management. She strongly believes in the power of art making and has seen the outcomes first hand through her work in schools, hospitals, and communities. Lauren is a graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana where she focused on Psychology and Studio Art.  She is constantly inspired by the work of Groundswell in her new home, Brooklyn, and is excited to support the organization and its communication goals.
