"Community is Accountability" 2025 Jeremiah Program x Groundswell Mural Paint Day and Dedication

A vibrant mural at the Brooklyn office of the Jeremiah Program celebrates the strength, resilience, and empowerment of single mothers and their children. Created through a collaboration between the Jeremiah Program and Groundswell Community Mural Project’s Voices Her’d program, the project brought together youth artists, mothers, and community members through conversations and workshops that informed the mural’s design.

Fifteen youth artists worked alongside Lead Teaching Artist Mimi Ditkoff and Assistant Teaching Artist Mahogany Brown to develop the artwork, culminating in a paint day and mural dedication where the community helped bring the mural to life. The design reflects themes of empowerment, education, growth, and collective support—central to the Jeremiah Program’s mission of disrupting cycles of poverty for single mothers and their children.
