Thank You for Supporting Our Storytellers!!

We are overjoyed to share that this year’s Summer Leadership Institute (SLI) campaign has been our most successful to date, as we have now raised $89,823 to support our young storytellers this summer!! We could not have done it without you--our incredible Groundswell community!!! Thank you for spreading the word, sharing this campaign, and making financial contributions to support these incredibly talented youth storytellers!

Thanks to your support this summer, our Groundswell youth are utilizing high-quality art supplies, engaging in world-class field trips, and being paid for their work with us this summer.

Our young people are already hard at work! Click here to see pictures highlighting important phases of Groundswell’s mural-making process that you helped to make possible. So far, they have visited cultural institutions, facilitated community conversations to gather critical thematic input, and presented their final designs to our partners, staff, friends, and family!

In research and conversation, youth and communities will be exploring 3 separate themes for large scale murals: female empowerment, male identity, and access to quality jobs.

We invite you to be our guest in this process, as each project will be hosting their own Community Paint Day in July (open to all ages and backgrounds). This is an opportunity for you to meet Groundswell storytellers, witness the metamorphosis of the final designs, and, of course, PAINT!!!
