  • Many Faces of Our Community

    During fall 2013, 5th grade students from PS 24 in Brooklyn came together with Groundswell to create 7 mini-murals that celebrate diversity within their community.

    "This is Newark (Central Ward)" was part of a larger initiative in which Groundswell worked with the City of Newark to train its artists, businesses, and community organizations in our unique collaborative model.

  • Uplifting

    "Uplifting" was created in partnership with Turning Point in order to transform the walls of Claremont Community Center. The theme for this mural is reaching for the stars, finding the path to success, and following one’s goals.

  • Action Word Wall

    In spring 2008, Groundswell worked with a group of 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders to create a mural for PS 261 in Boerum Hill. Comprised of action-inspiring words that span the length of the 400-foot wall, the mural explores the importance of communication and cooperation between all members of the community.
