Jazmine Hayes

Jazmine Hayes is a Brooklyn based mixed media artist, born and raised in East New York Brooklyn. She received a Bachelor of Fine arts from CUNY Queens College and is currently studying at Hunter College to receive her MFA in painting. Her artwork explores social and personal topics of family ancestry, women, identity and intergenerational imagery. Although predominantly a painter, Hayes also creates installations and performance as well. She uses whatever materials she believes the work needs in order to connect with the viewer. She states, “My history, my testimonies, and life’s experiences substantiate my identity and inspire my work.”
