    “Mother of All” depicts a surrealist image of a reclining mother and baby. The mother’s braids and blanket transform into an undulating quilt-like landscape with trees, cities and rivers.

  • On the Outside Looking In

    Dunkin Donuts commissioned Groundswell to create a new mural that both depicts the changing nature of Williamsburg and taps into the neighborhoods vibrant community and artistic identity.

  • Dream, Perchance, Rebuild!

    A group of young people from Sunset Park designed “Dream, Perchance, Rebuild!,” to be created as part of the “Come Together: Surviving Sandy” exhibition. This 60,000+ square foot arts exhibition was presented at Brooklyn’s Industry City, a hub of creative manufacturing and innovation.

  • My New Rochelle

    Through a partnership with the New Rochelle Arts Council and New Rochelle School District, Groundswell facilitated the collaborative research, design, and creation of a public art piece in New Rochelle.

  • Community and Collaborations for Health

    “Community and Collaborations for Health” was created in partnership with the Mosholu Montefiore Community Center at PS 8. The mural is composed of a series of collaged images. At the center is a heart, framed by arms reaching out to the rest of the canvas.

    The imagery for "Together We Build a Healthy Community" is composed of a father and son on the left side of the panel overlooking a scene filled with vibrant images of a healthy community. The entire panel is painted over a wash of bright colors, symbolizing positivity and optimism.

    In 2012, Groundswell partnered with Montefiore Medical Center and its Office of Community Health and Wellness Healing Arts Program to create five beautiful murals celebrating the theme: visions of a health community.

  • The Bloom of a Healthy Community

    "The Bloom of a Healthy Community" depicts several vignettes of healthy activities supported by the branches of a massive tree. Vignettes include a man watering a community garden, children playing in safe, open spaces, and welcoming homes made of fruit.

  • Be Amazing

    In collaboration with Goodwill Industries and the New York City Department of Youth and Community Developments Cornerstone Program, Groundswell artists designed a mural honoring volunteerism and the community for the Farragut Houses Community Center.
