  • One Day

    In the creation of One Day, Groundswell artists collaborated with corporate volunteers from Deloitte to create a mural at the Future Leaders Institute Charter School in Harlem.

  • The Four Seasons

    Four Seasons was created in partnership with The Trust for Public Land, by a group of one hundred eighth graders at MS 73 in Maspeth, NY.

  • Encrucijadas

    In partnership with the Eugene Lang College for Liberal Arts at The New School, Encrucijadas was created by a mural painting class led by Groundswell during the Spring semester of 2008.

  • Grasslands

    Grasslands was created during a day-long painting event for the community room of the Grasslands Homeless Shelter in Valhalla, New York.

  • South Brooklyn

    “South Brooklyn” celebrates the Coney Island neighborhood of Brooklyn. Groundswell artist Bayunga Kialeuka worked with youth and administrators from the South Brooklyn Youth Consortium, a community center in Coney Island, to create a mural focused on family, community, and education.

  • Farm Aid

    Groundswell attended the 2007 Farm Aid Concert, an annual benefit to promote and provide resources for the work of family farmers. Throughout the day, artists Eduardo Rabel and Clare Herron worked with concertgoers to collaboratively create a pair of banners exploring the idea of "home grown."

  • Future Leaders

    Future Leaders was created in one day by volunteers from Deloitte during a corporate volunteer opportunity at The Future Leaders Institute Charter School in Harlem.

  • FAC Plaques

    Groundswell artist Mauricio Trenard designed and fabricated 50 plaques for the entrances to Fifth Avenue Committee housing developments in Brooklyn.

  • UPROSE Buses

    Groundswell artist Christopher Cardinale worked with youth from environmental justice leader UPROSE to develop designs for a series of wrap-around vinyl banners.

  • FUREE Downtown Campaign Poster

    Groundswell artist Christopher Cardinale worked with youth and adult members of Families United for Racial and Economic Equality (FUREE). Together, they designed a poster for FUREE’s Downtown Campaign to organize community members around the real estate development of Downtown Brooklyn.

  • Fourth World Mural

    For this mural, Groundswell youth collaborated with Fourth World Movement, a network of people in poverty and those from other backgrounds who work in partnership towards overcoming the exclusion and injustice of persistent poverty.

  • Art of Remembering

    The walls of many neighborhoods throughout Brooklyn, including Crown Heights, Bedford-Stuyvesant, and East New York, are adorned with Rest in Peace murals which honor individuals lost too soon.

  • La Lucha Continua: Homage to Eva Cockcroft

    Groundswell, Artmakers Inc, and the Lower East Side People's Federal Credit Union teamed up to create a mural to honor the memory of Eva Cockcroft and celebrate community mural making in New York.

  • Woodhull Healing Mural

    Lead Artist Joe Matunis and his student muralists from El Puente Academy worked with Woodhull doctors, staff, and patients to design and paint a mural to make children more comfortable during their hospital stay.

  • The Children's Grove

    This mural was created for the Children's Grove Park in Bushwick, a park built by members of Make the Road by Walking/Se Hace el Camino al Andar for all residents of the neighborhood to enjoy.

  • Sunset Park Unity Mural

    Throughout the spring of 2001, Sunset Park residents, together with Groundswell, met to design a mural that reflected the range of cultures present in Sunset Park.
