Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star

As part of our Summer Leadership Institute, Groundswell partnered with Neighbors Helping Neighbors to create a mural as part of the organizations neighborhood improvement efforts.

One Community, Many Voices
One Community, Many Voices includes images of bridges to symbolize a linking of cultures as well as people in both contemporary clothing and the traditional dress of the various African, Asian, Latino, Arab, and Caribbean cultures that make up the surrounding neighborhood.

Our Community
Groundswell partnered with PS 38 in Brooklyn to complete a mural for the schools outdoor play yard, which is enjoyed by both student and community members alike.

Fourth World Mural
For this mural, Groundswell youth collaborated with Fourth World Movement, a network of people in poverty and those from other backgrounds who work in partnership towards overcoming the exclusion and injustice of persistent poverty.

Our Doors Are Open To You
Our Doors Are Open To You communicates the services offered by Lutheran Medical Centers Sunset Park Family Support Center to visitors, and celebrates themes of health, education, family, and community.

Voices
Voices was created as part of a restoration project in the Frank White Community Garden in Harlem. The mural was constructed on the back fence of the community garden on a series of panels and is inspired by the mission of the Brotherhood Sister Sol to provide "Positivity, Community, Knowledge, and Future."

Roots and Wings
Roots and Wings incorporates suggestion from the Wyckoff Gardens community, which spoke of four critical themes that they wanted the mural to address: Unity, Family, Employment, and Education.

Making A Difference
Making A Difference was created as part of a series of murals on the theme of Peace and Healing created in the aftermath of the attacks on New York and Washington, D.C. on September 11, 2001.

The Children's Grove
This mural was created for the Children's Grove Park in Bushwick, a park built by members of Make the Road by Walking/Se Hace el Camino al Andar for all residents of the neighborhood to enjoy.

Throughout the spring of 2001, Sunset Park residents, together with Groundswell, met to design a mural that reflected the range of cultures present in Sunset Park.

Washington Avenue Elephants
Washington Avenue Elephants was created as part of a two day community mural jam, open to the public. The mural was the first in a series of murals to be painted along Washington Avenue.
